내가 한국에서 특히 놀란 것들 // Things which really surprised me in South Korea

첫번째는 카페에 개인 소지품을 그냥 두는 것

한국에서 카페에 갔을 때 많은 사람들이 전화나 노트북과 같은 개인 소지품을 테이블 위에 두고있는 것을 종종 보았어요. 유럽에서 물건을 도난당한 경험이 있기 때문에 카페에 물건을 두는 것은 상상할 수 없는 일이에요. 이를테면 가방이나 자전거를 여러 번 도난당했어요. 그래서 저는 유럽에 있을때는 항상 조심하려고 하고 주변을 살피곤 해요.

두번째는, 밤 문화에요.
저는 한국사람들이 밤에도 활동적으로 어울려 노는 모습을 보고 놀랐어요. 한국인 친구들이 가끔은 즉흥적인 특성을 보인다는 것을 알게 되었어요. 가끔 한국 친구들과 번개모임 으로 삼겹살을 먹으러 가기도 했어요. 노르웨이에서는 보통 일주일 전에 미리 약속을 잡곤 했거든요!

세번째는 교통 시스템이에요.
한국의 교통 시스템이 얼마나 좋은지 놀랐어요. 저는 버스, 지하철,기차를 타는 것을 정말 좋아해요. 그러나 노르웨이에서는 교통이 잘 연결되어 있지 않아요. 그리고 노르웨이에서 버스가 매우 늦어요.

First thing - Leaving personal belongings in a cafe.
When I went to the cafe in Korea, I often saw many people leaving their personal belongings like phones or laptops on the table. It’s unimaginable for me to leave things on the table in café because I experienced that in Europe things were stolen from me. For example, my backpack or bicycle was stolen many times. So I'm always very cautious and look around me when I'm in Europe.

Second thing - Nightlife.
I was surprised at how Koreans hang out actively even during the night. I found that my friends are often spontaneous.
Sometimes I met my Korean friends and we decided to eat Samgyeopsal right away, the same day. In Norway, I used to have plans beforehand.

Third thing - The transportation system.
I was surprised at how good the transportation system is in Korea. I really love taking the bus, metro, or train. But in Norway, the transportation is not that well connected. And the busses are often very late in Norway.
